SWIFT RACING WINS
AT "VEGAS-TO-RENO" RACE

Friday, August 22, 2008–Dayton, NV. — The #7220 Swift Team captured yet another first-place finish at the 2008 TSCO “Vegas-to-Reno” race. “V2R”, as it’s commonly called is a “Best in the Desert” sanctioned event, well known as the longest off-road race in the United States. With over 450 miles of grueling Nevada desert terrain, the racecourse is notorious for destroying even the toughest race vehicles with its tire-ripping rock sections and truck-swallowing silt beds. The well-prepared Swift Team utilized a familiar strategy after winning the same race last year.

With a field of over 200 trucks and buggies at the starting line, team driver Jonathan Swift amazingly moved from his 156th-place starting position to lead his class by the first pit. Gaining an astonishing two-hour lead over the rest of the 7200 truck class, Jonathan Swift handed the wheel over to team driver Andy Waters at the halfway mark. Waters held the lead with no problems and managed to take the nighttime win over five hours ahead of the closest vehicle in their class, finishing 28th overall.

Claiming a second consecutive win for the season, the Swift Team has moved into a solid points lead for the series championship. The Swift Team would like to sincerely thank all of its sponsors and crew for their support as the Swift Ford Ranger continues to improve and impress at every race.
